Classical Ballet training is the foundation for competence in all other forms of dance. The Classical Ballet class promotes self discipline and self reliance, which develop self confidence and self esteem. At the Performing Arts Workshop, the student with a simple love of dance and the student who may be career bound are equally valued and served. Encouraging creativity, self-appreciation, a greater appreciation and respect of others. Facilitating the student's own physical expression, self-confidence and self-esteem are enhanced through both our school and open classes.

Meet the Business Owner
Artistic Director Emily Miller grew up dancing at Performing Arts Workshop under the Artistic Direction of Leslie Craig-Foxworth. She received her BFA in Choreography from Columbia College Chicago in 2008. In addition to dancing for numerous Chicago companies and national choreographers, she has produced several evening length works, collaborative projects, designed sound professionally, and has been a joyful collaborator and member of Kate Corby and Dancers (katecorby.com) since 2009. She is the Artistic Director of the GET DOWN/PICK UP Company (getdownpickup.org) formed in 2008 which has performed in numerous festivals, venues, and split bills in Chicago and in NYC. Emily was the Marketing and Development Associate for David Dorfman Dance ( from 2010-2013.
